Accused of much hyped Durga Nagar sex scandal allegedly threatens victim’s brother | Police delays to register FIR for over a month despite court's direction | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Jan 8: The brother of the victim of the infamous Durga Nagar sex scandal which involves some high profile and influential people has alleged threatening from some of the accused involved in the said case. Girdari Lal, the brother of victim lodged a complaint before the Munsif court in Kishtwar through his council Amees Ahmed Mir alleging that the accused namely Hari Krishan, Santosha Devi, Ashwani Kumar, Lekh Raj and Anil Kumar are harassing him on one or other pretext and threaten him not to follow the case registered against them. He also has alleged that the accused even have threatened him of dire consequences including 'killing' in case he (Girdari Lal) fails to withdraw his complaint against the accused, besides this they also warned him not to follow the case proceeding presently under trial at Jammu and Kishtwar courts respectively. Following victim's brother's complaint through his council, Munsif Judge Kishtwar Umesh Sharma on 26-11-2012 vide order No: 540/JMIC dated 26-11-2012 directed the SHO Police Station Kishtwar to register an FIR against the said accused and further investigate the matter. As per reports even after the lapse of over a month, Kishtwar Police utterly has failed to register the FIR against the accused reasons better known to concerned. Council of complainant Advocate Amees Ahmed Mir regretted despite several requests, concerned police has fail to compliance court order and said that he will file a contempt petition against the police for failure in registering the case as well as making the mockery of the judicial system and delaying the process of justice by the police officials at the helm of the affairs. As per the case history, a teenage girl hailing from remote Padyarna area of district Kishtwar was push into flesh trade by accused Santosha Devi who allegedly runs a brothel center in Durga Nagar, Jammu before she escaped her custody and reported the matter to Jammu police. The victim in her statement recorded before CJM Kishtwar last year stated that she is 14-15 years old and said that preceding year i.e. 2011 on the day of Shivratri, one Saroja Devi alias Santosha Devi wife of Krishan Lal of Hurna Drubel in Chatroo tehsil of district Kishtwar at present Durga Nagar Jammu along with Ashwani Kumar son of Saroja Devi and Anil Kumar son of brother of Saroja Devi reached at her native village (Saiya Padyarna) and lured her to Jammu for a suitable marriage. The teenage victim in her statement before the CJM Kishtwar counted 20 incidents where she was repeatedly raped at different places. She in her statement further stated that one day accused informed her that some guests are visiting her house in the evening and told her to be ready to attend the guests. She, however managed to escape from the clutches of Santosha Devi and after spending a night in a school she went to Police Station Domana in Jammu and lodged a complaint with SHO of the concerned police station. Following her report DySP and SSP inquired about the matter and subsequently conducted the raid at Durga Nagar residence of the accused and arrested Santosha Devi along with some other girls. Later Saroja Devi, sister of the accused Santosha Devi was also arrested. After Jammu police registered the case, they produce the Challan in court of law against 10 accused including Santosha Devi, Saroj Devi, Surjeet Singh alias Sonu, Deepak Gupta, Raman Gupta, Pawan Gupta, Bupinder Singh alias Titu, Pardeep Lohria, Ashish Abrol and Ashwani Kumar. However, high profiled and influential accused managed to get bail with the plea that the victim is not the minor and in support of his evidence, the accused produces the fake Date of Birth Certificate of the victim involving the local Lambardar of the village Saiya in Padyarana Kishtwar who allegedly produced the DOB certificate of his female relative. |
