'Bias, resentment' reflected against BJP candidate in Chandigarh meet | Would leaders work in a fair manner in his support...? | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 15: All is certainly not well with State unit of BJP with respect to forthcoming Parliamentary elections. The resentment which has been brewing up against the party candidate for Doda-Udhampur seat among some quarters was reflected afresh at a high level review meeting held for taking stock of things at Chandigarh last week. The grouse surprisingly was expressed openly by none other than the state functionaries who are incharge of the polls and campaign for the candidates. The big question in the backdrop of such state of affairs when these leaders nourish bias and grouse against the candidate is that will they act and work in fair manner as poll fever picks up the momentum.....? Sources said in the meeting which was called last week to take stock of management at the party level for preparedness of polls as also the campaign, instead of presenting a positive attitude , some leaders painted a grim picture for the Doda-Udhampur seat with grouse mainly against the candidate Dr Jitendra Singh. The high point of the resentment which these leaders dared to show in front of the two senior leaders of the stature of national General Secretaries JP Nadda and General Secretary organisation, Punjab besides other leaders of the party who were deputed by the Central leadership for the task of reviewing status of campaign for two seats of Jammu. Sources said incharge leaders from J&K while presenting their view point maintained that Dr Singh was not an appropriate choice citing certain reasons on the basis of which they contended this point. They even asked the senior leaders that there was still some time for the party to review the decision for this seat, sources added. However, the leaders in front of whom this picture was presented for obvious reasons did not give much ear to what the leaders from Jammu contended, sources further said. They looked at it more as bias towards the candidate and a conduct that amounted to igniting the situation instead of starting the process and gearing up the things for the larger interests of the party, sources added. Sources also said that while this conduct has put a larger question on the credibility of the leaders who should have been instilling confidence among the rank and file of party at a time when then the rivals are gearing up, question is also being raised whether they would do justice with the candidate and prospects of the party in terms of putting in efforts and hardwork which is the only things required on part of every leader and by the entire rank and file of the state unit...? |
