Jammu, Dec 28: Amidst speculation about formation of PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir, senior BJP leader and newly elected MLA from Billawar assembly segment, Dr Nirmal Singh has been called at New Delhi by the high command to discuss prevailing situation in the State. Credible sources in the BJP said that high command this morning has asked Dr Nirmal Singh to reach Delhi as soon as possible so that discussions on government formations would be held with him. Although there is no confirmation whether PDP has set some conditions for the formation of government with the BJP, the party (BJP) has decided to take state unit into confidence before taking any final decision regarding formation of government. Dr Nirmal Singh, who is senior most leader among all the 25 elected MLAs of BJP is asked to reach Delhi so that discussions on all aspects would be held so that party high command would take decision in this regard. Credible sources in the BJP said that party is divided on the issue of formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir. A group with the party is of the view that PDP has emerged as a single largest party so BJP should allow PDP chief minister in the State and party should bargain on the issue of Deputy Chief Minister for a stable government. This group argued that BJP's participation on the government would help the party to initiate developmental activities in Jammu region. This faction argued that BJP's involvement in the government in the government would remove the misconception that party is untouchable in Kashmir Valley. But, another faction is of the view that party should strongly demand chief ministership because first time BJP has won all time high 25 seats in the assembly. This faction argued that party should sit in opposition if chief ministership is not given to the BJP. |
