Mufti-Modi to break ice after R-Day | Govt formation in J&K | |
Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 22:Though BJP is silent for past several days over the issue of government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, top sources reveal that a meeting between PDP patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on the cards after the Republic day celebrations are over. If recent political developments are any indication, lot of ground work has been made by the negotiators on behalf of both the parties and during the high profile meeting between Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Narendra Modi the remaining issues would be sorted out amicably to pave way for the alliance govt in the state. According to senior leaders from both the parties, after the informal discussions were held, in which senior leaders sorted out the contentious issues and also held discussions towards finalising common minimum programme (CMP). Though PDP was keen on expediting the entire process of govt formation but BJP leaders deliberately delayed the meeting in the wake of visit of US President Barack Obama. Since both BJP and PDP leaders are expected to draw up their election strategy for the Rajya Sabha polls ahead of filing of nomination papers till January 28, the party leaders were playing mind games on behalf of their parties to extract maximum benefit. The newly elected BJP legislators have been maintaining that a stable govt would be formed soon as discussions were going on in the right direction. The speculations were rife in the corridors of power after the meeting between Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Governor NN Vohra in Jammu where Mufti spent more than two hours and held threadbare discussions with the Governor. |
