Hiranagar, Jan 22: Continuing its mission to educate the masses regarding "Beti Bachaao Beti Padaao", the Medical Block Hiranagar today conducted a health awareness camps at Sub Center Panjgrain and Sub Center Sanyal which attracted huge response from local masses. Expert namely Dr Guru Prasad Sharma, Dr Rittu, Deep Sharma, Parvesh Sharma were present from the Medical department. Speaking at these awareness camps, Dr Guru Prasad Sharma said that it is the duty of females mainly to come forward to save the 'girl child'. Dr Guru said if the scenario continues the day is not too far when society won't find any girl as skewed sex ratio is not a healthy indicator and is becoming main root cause of increasing crime. "The dire need of the hour is to understand the importance of saving girl child and educating them as 'girls' bring happiness to two families, he said. He said that government has taken strict steps to stop female foeticide by implementing PC & PNDT Act. Staff members from both the Sub Centers, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, locals people from surrounding areas were gathered in large numbers. Speaking on the occasion Sarpanch Panjgrain and Sarpanch Sanyaal applauded the efforts of the health department and urged requested them to arrange such Health Awareness Camps in near future. |
