Contractual teachers of Baramulla meet to intensify struggle for 'justice' | | | Mudasir Tariq
Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Feb 16: Contractual teachers of this North Kashmir district held an emergency meeting at Carriapa Park today and resolved for the continuation of their services in the different educational institutions of the district. Today's meeting was held to complete the process of registration for the current academic session. The meeting participants resolved to press the issue for their regularization of services and said that any move aimed to remove them would be dealt with severely. The teachers who were engaged on contractual basis for the academic session of 2014 demanded for the continuation of their services. These teachers made it a point to respond to the call of Contractual Teachers Association for a peaceful protest of all the temporary teachers of Kashmir division at Pratap Park Srinagar on Wednesday. It was impressed that the protest programme would be made a success so that the state government would be forced to continue with the services of contractual teachers who discharged their services last year. It was resolved that the 'fight for justice' would be taken to the logical conclusion with no concession whatsoever. Pertinently the temporary appointment of these teachers was done under the government order no. 482 Edu of 2014 dated 2/07/2014 against the consolidated remuneration of three thousand rupees per month. The period of engagement was mentioned for sixty days only, however the teachers were asked to continue for the three months till the winter vacations were announced by the government. The teachers want the continuation of their services, so that their employment is not snatched by the wrong policies of the government. |
