PDP berates 'Omar' for accusing Mufti of selling out with BJP | Hails 'Sayeed' for having forced BJP to give assurance on keeping Art-370 | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 21 : Taking strong exception of remarks from former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah against PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed for "sell-out" to BJP, the senior PDP leaders have berated Omar Abdullah for his remarks and appreciated party patron Mufti Mohd.Sayeed for having forced the BJP to give an solid assurance on keeping Article 370 intact., These PDP leaders, including Nizam-ud-Din Bhat referred to the latest twitter from Omar and defended Mufti Mohd.Sayeed by appreciating Mufti Sayeed for having forced the BJP to give an solid assurance on keeping Article 370 intact Omar has blamed the Mufti for bartering away interests of people of the state. Pertinently former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has hit out at PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed for being a "sell-out" to BJP. "Dear Mufti Sahib, please don't say you won't 'sell out' because you've already done that by helping BJP in the Legislative Council elections," Omar wrote on the micro-blogging site Twitter. "You (Sayeed) already 'sold out' by demanding Art 370 status-quo when you had sold 'Self Rule' to people in J&K, please stop playing the martyr," Omar tweeted on other day. The National Conference working president took a dig at the PDP leader for "supporting" BJP in the Rajya Sabha polls and Legislative Council elections. PDP leaders countering Omar's remarks said whatever Omar has stated on the possible alliance between the PDP and the BJP was based on the figment of his imagination and wishful thinking. PDP leader Nizam-ud-din Bhat countered Omar by asking him whether 1952 Delhi agreement was a sell-out or not ? He also asked Omar if the 1975 Accord between his grandfather Sheikh Abdullah and Indira Gandhi was a sell-out or not ? Bhat asked Omar to explain if Rajiv-Farooq Accord of 1986 was a sell out or not ? Taking dig upon senior NC leader, the PDP leaders said that these agreements were a sell-out organized by the National Conference on the plea that not a single provision of these agreements were fulfilled or implemented by the successive central Governments. Bhat also questioned Omar. If the people have given a mandate, during the recent Assembly election, to the PDP and the BJP to form the Government how could he term it a sell-out? PDP leaders asked if Omar Abdullah's joining the Central Government led by the them BJP led NDA was not a sell-out? They said if the PDP and the BJP have decided to forge an alliance for the formation of the Government in Jammu and Kashmir it was being done to give a clean and transparent Government which could ameliorate peoples and resolve various issues, including the problem of unemployment and energy crisis. "Why should Omar blame Mufti for deceiving people on Self-Rule when Omar and the NC leadership had misled people by telling them that Autonomy would be restored to Jammu and Kashmir, they asked. |
