JKPSC lethargy tests patience of CCE aspirants | Postpones preliminary exams | | Arun Singh
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: In what could be described as lackadaisical approach of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commotions (JKPSC) that it announced postponement of preliminary examination of Combined Competitive Examination, 2014 at the eleventh hour as the same was scheduled to be held on March 1. If recalled that earlier the nodal examination agency had announced postponement of the scheduled examination reasoning it due to post flood situations and polling time in December 2014 The notification issued by PSC in its website reads that all eligible candidates who have applied for the posts under Combined Competitive Examination, 2014 in response to Notification No.PSC/Exm/2014/36 dated 24.04.2014 that the Preliminary Examination scheduled to be held on Sunday, 01/03/2015 is hereby postponed till further orders. Credible sources told Early Times that PSC had not completed its full preparation for conducting the examination. Despite knowing this fact it uploaded the roll numbers of all aspirants few days ago on its official website which was a clear indication for the aspirants that examination are will be held on time, they said. "The lack of preparation for conducting preliminary examination by PSC can be well gauged from the fact that the stationary items which were sent by the commission generally 20-25 days prior to date of examination its notified centers particularly in Srinagar for examination purposes had not been sent this time by the commission," they alleged. They further said that one month ago Secretary PSC had visited to Srinagar for the selection and hiring of centers for conducting examination but after his return to Jammu no further development could take place in this regard. Sources further informed that one of the reasons for postponement of examination can be attributed to examinations process for the post of Assistant Director Planning which is underway at this time as all machinery of PSC has been put in place for this process. "Commission was very well aware of the fact that in prevailing situation, the preliminary examinations can be held on time but PSC ridiculed the sentiments of aspirants by uploading the roll numbers in its website," they alleged. If sources are to be believed there was also a political pressure behind the postponement examination as the government formation in state seems to be in offing as the prospective political parties want the process of examination to be held after the formation of government. The notification of postponement of preliminary examination by Public Service Commotions has evoked strong reaction from the aspirants. "The notification of postponement of preliminary examination has come to me as bolt from the blue. This is absolutely ridiculous as I had done my preparation according to the date of examination i.eMarch 1 but the deferment of examination has disheartened my spirit," said an aspirant preferring anonymity. If PSC had to postpone the exams then why it uploaded the roll numbers, already the exams has been postponed which was earlier scheduled to be held in December 2014, she alleged. |
