| Doodh Pathree Dev Authority defunct | | No CEO, AEE from last many months | |  Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 15 : Doodh Pathree Development Authority has been rendered defunct as there is neither a Chief Executive Officer, nor an AEE in the organization for the last many months.
A lush green meadow in central Kashmir's Budgam district was brought on the tourism map around ten years back by the efforts of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syed . A separate development authority was also established under the name of Doodh Pathree Development Authority (DDA) which is headed by a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The sole aim of DDA is to look after the development of this area for tourism purpose without disturbing the environment. Doodh Pathree Development Authority (DDA) is without the CEO as the said officer was transferred to from this place to head Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) more than six months back which has given lot of set back to the execution of developmental works. Right now the charge of CEO Doodh Pathree Development Authority (DDA) has been given to Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam which is totally unjustified as the said officer remains too much preoccupied with his work in DC office Budgam. Details available with Early Times reveal that DDA is without any Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) from the last 6 months which has added miseries to the DDA and people associated with it.Pertinent to mention that after 2004, Doodh Pathree became very much famous among the local foreign and tourists within a short span of time and on an average five to six thousand people throng this place on daily basis during summer months right from April to October. This place is located in Khansahib tehsil of Budgam district is and is spread over an area of around more than 5000 hectares on plain meadows and as well as alpine forests . River Shali Ganga also flows through the southern end of Doodh Pathree. Due to rough road very less people used to visit this place earlier but after the macadamization of road from Raiyaar to Doodh Pathree the tourist inflow has drastically increased in this area. Locals give credit of road construction to Xen R&B Budgam and AEE Khansahib who worked very hard to ensure smooth completion of this project for which funding was provided under Central Road Fund (CRF) which was also sanctioned in 2003. "The PDP lead coalition Government from 2003-2008 played a great role for the development of Doodh Pathree as the Government created Doodh Pathree Development Authority (DDA) for the development of this place. We give credit of the development of Doodh Pathree to Mufti Mohammad Syed while he headed coalition Govt from 2002 to 2006 and as now Mufti sahib heads the Tourism department himself it is hoped that he will lay special attention towards this place " said local residents of Khansahib while talking to this correspondent.
"We appeal Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to appoint some capable and honest officer as CEO Doodh Pathree Development Authority (DAA) as the development of the area is suffering a lot and financial year is coming to closure this month" said locals. |
