NMC urges state FM to address long pending demands of daily rated workers

Jammu, Apr 20: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the State Finance Minister to allot wage head in each department of the state government for regular disbursement of long pending wages of sixty thousand daily rated workers working in various department s of the state Govt.
In a statement issued here, he said that creation of separate wage head is the need of the hour as non-disbursement of long pending wages to daily wagers have created lot of hardships for them due to rising prices.
Addressing a gathering during meeting he said that neither daily rated workers were not been regularized nor they have been paid their legitimate wages have suffered all along. Hoping on PDP-BJP led coalition government will take appropriate decision in this regard at the earliest so that daily rated workers have a sigh of relief. This interim measure will go a long way to redress their grievances in the first instance, he added.
Stressing on the need for regularization of the services of 61000 daily rated workers, Shastri also hoped that the long pending of demand of daily rated workers for their regularization will be met before May Day as a gift to working class. Pleading the cause of 3660 daily wagers falls under SRO 64 Shastri further demanded issuance of heir regularization orders before Darbar move as posts of helpers as already been sanctioned by the state government recently.
He also urged Haseeb Darbu to release another installment of 6% DA due from January last to the employees of state Govt. and pensioners, he said, added that the early release of due DA as a good will gesture to address their financial hardships in view of escalating inflation.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Surrinder Kumar, Sham Lal Sharma ,Bupinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Sukhdev Singh, Subash Sharma, Kewal Krishan and others.
