J&K Congress chief meets Rahul Gandhi | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 20: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir on Monday met party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and briefed him about the political situation in the state. "Mir had one-to-one meeting with Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi today. It was his first meeting with Gandhi after taking over as State congress Chief", Chief Spokesman JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma said. Mir, who congratulated Gandhi for successful Kissan rally in Delhi, briefed him about current political situation in the state after formation of new government in the state, the spokesman said. He also briefed him about the security situation and other issues which triggered uncertainty in the state during past fortnight. The JKPCC Chief also discussed the issue of the package for the flood-hit people in the state, particularly for farmers, who have suffered huge losses due to the floods in September last year. Later, a delegation led by Mir and including Senior Vice President Sham Lal Sharma, CLP leader Nawang Rigzin Jora along with MLAS and offices bearers, called on Rahul Gandhi. Mir also met AICC leader Ambica Soni and is scheduled to meet AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and Gulam Nabi Azad. |
