| Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 20 : Resident Doctors association (RDA) convened a meeting here today wherein cabinet decision was condemned for scraping direct recruitment of appointment of doctors by Public Service Commission (PSC). Speaking in the meeting, Dr Akhil General Secretary, RDA said this decision is humiliation and exploitation of doctors who want to serve their soil and will be forced to leave the state. He further said one side government is asking doctors working outside to serve home state and on the other hand it is exploiting and humiliating them. "Already state govt is paying very less to doctors as compared to private sector and also even compared to our neighbouring states, he said. Terming the new recruitment policy 'shameful decision,' he said state government should roll back the same. He further stressed this decision would impact on present and future healthcare of our state as docs will be forced to leave state. RDA is also deciding to chalk out a protest march to make public and government aware that this will deteriorate our health care system. Dr Akhil also asked govt that it could have better if KAS and other non-professional are recruited after 7 years of contract instead of doctors who are already skilled and qualified for their posts. Other members of RDA namely Dr Wasseem and Dr Sanam warned government against playing with healthcare system as the decision will demoralize merit for choosing medical as profession of choice |
