LWWS organizes awareness programme on International Family Day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 19:Lalded women welfare society organized two days awareness programme on International Family Day with the theme "Beti Bacchao Beti Padhaoo" at Tirlokpur and Bahu Fort Jammu in which the message of save the girl and teach the girl was given among the participants especially in a women folk. On this occasion, Santosh Basotra welcomed all the participants and said that time has come to save girl child and teach them up to the maximum level as she can, so that they can lead a dignified life of their own and nobody can exploit them being less education in the society. The nukkad plays on this theme were staged to highlight the objective which was high appreciated by the participants. Rampaul Dogra (a writer / social worker and coordinator to LWWS) also spoke on the subject and stressed the education for the dropout girls and also told that there are so many schemes initiated by Govt. side and those who are needy may take benefit of Such Schemes for making life of their girl child. Later, another play was staged "Bruin Hatya" at Cluster Centre Bahu Fort Jammu convening a powerful message to women participants that girl feticides need to be stopped as there is no difference between son and daughter in today's time, they are equal in rights. Whereas law has already banned this practice long back and the people should not practice under any influence. The poetry in dogri also recited to target the objective.Among those who were taken part in the nukkad plays included Rampaul, Suraj Naryan, Naveen Pal, Santosh Basotra, Kulbir Kour, Reenu Nagotra, Anju Sagotra. |
