Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 19: Much to the embarrassment of Education Minister who claims to be thriving for better quality education, a video clip has gone viral on social media wherein a kindergarten kid is seen being beaten up by his teacher to pulp. A short video clip of 20 seconds duration has not only unmasked the tall claims of the state authorities of ensuring quality education in the government run schools but has also made the education minister to eat a humble pie who since assuming office claims have been trying to revolutionize the education sector of Jammu and Kashmir. In a video clip which has become talk of the town and has gone viral on social media reveals the terror unleashed by the government teachers upon the helpless, poor kids. While watching the video which is more painful than watching any horror movie, the teacher who turns the tormentor in the clip bangs the kid for 17 seconds without a single pause. A stick in his hand makes the thuds enough audible to note why the little kid is crying for help. One kid is made to carry another on his back and the teacher then begins to unleash terror in his class by banging with stick the little chap 62 times continuously in 17 seconds. Afterwards, this so called teacher slaps this child atleast three times on his face and head flowed by another bang of a stick. The cries of this little victim are enough to make one sure not to enroll children in government schools wherein the reports of torturing innocent children continue to pour in every day after. The terror on the faces of other two students, a boy and a little girl with a head scarf, is visible in the video. The silence in the entire class reveals the panic which has gripped these minors in the schools wherein they were supposed to learn the values of life. As anger is brewing among the people about such a torture inflicted by teachers in schools, serious questions are being raised over why betterment in quality education continues to remain a distant dream even in the present times. Naeem Akhar, Mufti's close confidant and incumbent education minister has promised to give laptops, out of the state exchequer, to teachers in government schools. Akhtar claims that such an action would ensure betterment in education sector of the state. While several term it a bizarre move, others question the standard of education being imparted in kids at government run schools. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen that whether action against this erring teacher would be taken or the case would be bundled as just another one among scores in the department of education. |
