Perturbed over mother's rebuke polytechnic student hangs self | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 19: A girl student of polytechnic college allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself after being scolded by her mother for not paying attention towards her studies while another youth allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Akhnoor. Police sources said that teen identified as Nandni Sharma (18) d/o Satish Sharma of Toph ended her life by hanging self at her residence in Toph area, this afternoon. Police sources said that the deceased was student of polytechnic college and her parents were out to their work place when the tragic incident took place. Police sources said during preliminary inquiry it came to fore that the deceased was allegedly rebuked by her mother for not paying attention towards her studies last night. Meanwhile, a youth identified as Shubham Kumar s/o Pritam of village Ambara Akhnoor committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at his residence. Police sources said that on finding him unconscious his family members immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor where after preliminary treatment he was referred to Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu but he succumbed on the way to premier hospital. After post-mortem both the bodies were handed over to their respective family members for last rites. Police have registered both the cases at concerned police stations and started further investigation. |
