Rajouri, May 19: Continuing its drive against menace of bovine smuggling, Thanamandi Police today foiled bovine smuggling with arrest of three bovine smugglers rescuing fourteen animals during a naka checking at Rajouri -Thanamandi road. The accused have been identified namely as Abdul Rashid of Rajdhani, Thanamandi, Gulzar Ahmed of Awantipora, Srinagar (driver of the TATA mobile) and Babar Hussain of Khablan, Rajdhani Thanamandi (driver of 407 Truck). "On specific information police party led by SHO Thanamandi Sub Inspector Mohd Fareed under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Iftqar Talib laid a naka at Thanamandi Rajouri Road and intercepted a TATA Mobile bearing regd no: JKO2C-2812 and Jonga-407 (Truck) bearing regd no :JK02T-9881," police sources said. Sources said, "During the search of vehicles police recovered 14 bovine animals loaded on the two vehicles which were illegally being transported to Srinagar via Thanamandi and arrested there above mentioned bovine smugglers on the spot." "The vehicles have been seized while bovines were rescued by the police, police sources said adding a cases under FIR No. 66/2015 and 67/2015 u/s 188 of RPC, 3 PCA have been registered at Police Station Thanamandi and investigations are on. |
