Congress launches membership drive in Vijaypur 5/19/2015 11:37:21 PM Early Times Report Vijaypur, May 19: Congress party in Vijaypur assembly constituency today launched membership drive to strengthen roots of the India's oldest political party. The drive was started by former minister and Congress general secretary Manjit Singh in presence of the leaders, workers and prominent citizens. The membership drive started with a zeal among the people who came their and sought quarries about their grievances. Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Singh criticized present coalition government stating that they have created differences among the people. "BJP being partner in Government has not worked for the region where it had got 25 assembly seats. They have simply cheated people of the region for their political interests and now have tuned backs towards their voters," Singh said. He said that the BJP had promised settlement of refugees, Kashmiri Pandits return with safety and compensation to rain affected farmers but all these assurances proved hallow slogans to gain support and vote from the people.
