Early Times Report Jammu, May 19: On second day, the work in the High Court Jammu Wing as well as District Court Complex Suffer as lawyers under the banner of Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) abstained from the work to protest against shifting of AIIMS to Srinagar which was earlier announced for Jammu in Central Budget. Meanwhile in all party meeting attended by representatives of various political, non-political, religious and other social organizations decided to frame a coordination committee to intensifies stir. The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu today held an all party meeting including leaders and representatives of various Political, Non-Political, Religious and other social organizations besides various members of the JKHCBA including the senior designated advocates. In the meeting which was chaired by President. Abhinav Sharma and other office bearers, the representatives of the political Parties such as Indian National Congress, National Conference, BSP, JKNPP and other organizations such as Chamber of Commerce, J&K Petrol Pump Tankers Association, Transport Association, Federation of Retailers, Hotelier and Lodges Association, SOS, J&K People Forum, Dogra Sadar Sabha, Swarn Kar Sang, Rajput Sabha, Ram Sena, Dalit Chetna Manch, All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha and various other organizations also spoke on the occasion. The Committee in the meeting passed a unanimous resolution to take up the issue of AIIMS from a common Platform of JKHCBA and also decided that a co-ordination committee shall be constituted comprising of various members of these organizations and the Bar Association, the committee shall hold its meeting again on Saturday i.e. on May 23. Taking strong exceptions to statement made by Chief Minister on May 15, that AIIMS would be established in Kashmir, the members said the project is fully centrally sponsored project therefore Chief Minister of the State was not competent to make such statement. Speaking in this meeting President JKHCBA, Abhinav Sharma and others condemned the Central Government, State Government and various other elected representatives from Jammu on such discriminatory treatment towards the people of Jammu. They said all the elected representatives from Jammu region particularly the ministers representing Jammu province should immediately take up the matter with the central government for establishment of AIIMS at Jammu. The elected representatives should clear stand and make a public statement regarding establishment of AIIMs at Jammu, failing which, the people from Jammu province shall be forced to take extreme steps i.e. demanding elected MLA's and Ministers from Jammu province to step down. |
