Youth Congress demands AIIMS for Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, May 24: Youth Congress today demanded setting-up of AIIMS at Kishtwar. Dawood Bashir, Youth Congress Leader while demanding AIIMS institute said that Kishtwar is the largest district of Jammu division and is sharing its boundaries with Anantnag, Doda districts and Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh state. Dawood added that every year hundreds of accidents takes place in chenab valley leading to loss of thousands of lives due to lack of medicare infrastructure in District Hospitals of chenab valley. Every year thousands of patients visit DH kishtwar for specialised treatment from the adjoining districts and state but unfortunately due to lack of facilities patients are refered to GMC Jammu, which is matter of grave concern. AIIMS is the legitimate demand of the common people of Kishtwar and will ensure in raising the health status of chenab valley. Dawood further added that as already proposed by central government a full fledged university be sanctioned for Kishtwar under RUSA. While justifying his demand Dawood said that Doda has been granted the GMC and National Institute of Medicinal Plants is sanctioned for Bhaderwah, in order to maintain the regional balance a university must be sanctioned for Kishtwar. "Kishtwar has always been discriminated now its time to end age old discrimination by granting the AIIMS and a full fledged university so that the largest district of Jammu division may witness some development", added Dawood. |
