Jammu, May 24: Abusing the mandate given by the people for fighting corruption , the Deputy Chief Dr Nirmal Singh has given prize posting' to a tainted engineer, who has misused official position for vested interest and also 'tampered' his date of birth in his service book.
Documents in possession of Early Times reveals that on April 21, under government order number 136/HUD-2015 Jugal Kishore Sharma Technical Officer, Commissioner Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department transferred and posted as Executive Engineer in Urban Local Bodies Jammu.
Though, the engineer was removed from service on August 23, 2013, however, the court stayed government's order following a petition filled by the engineer. "He (JK Sharma) was removed from service for 'tempering' his date of birth in service record, which has been established by J&K Forensic Science Laboratory, Jammu vide letter number LSG/ULBJ/56/2011, dated January 5, 2013", document read. Sharma had also made illegal appointments, during his posting at XEn, HUDD second division Jammu, is this regard state vigilance had proved the charges also.
"Now, therefore, on the recommendations of the inquiry officer and after careful consideration of all relevant material Jugal Kishore Sharma Technical Officer to Commissioner Secretary, H&UDD is here by removed from the service of the state, which does not disqualify his from future employment, with immediate effect as per the provisions of rule 33 (i) of J&K classification, control and appeal rules, 1956, it is further ordered that the date of birth of the officer shall be recorded as 17/06/1956 instead of 17/06/1958", government order number 227-HUD 2013 read. They further said that the engineer was attached to the office divisional commissioner Jammu, but he took stay from the court against attachment. "Sharma was made HUDD XEn second division, in the month of April 2013 he was attached to the office of divisional commissioner Jammu for allegedly missing his official position for vested interest", sources said, adding that soon after his attachment he managed to get relief from the court, as his attachment was stayed. Earlier, on February 22, 2015 the then Commissioner Secretary HUUD J&K Satish Nehru had told Early Times that the matter was sub-judice, so there was question of transfer of the engineer. "The court had directed the department to maintain status-quo till further order. It is difficult to make a comment until court gives its verdict", Nehru had told the ET. It is pertinent to mention here that ET had reported in its February 23 issue 'Terminated for tempering DOB, blue eyed engineer likely to get prize posting'.Sources told this journo the BJP legislators from Chenab Valley had work hard and finally convinced, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh to give price posting to the tainted engineer. "Since Sharma belongs to Chenab valley, he got choice posting at a place from where he was attached to secretariat for tempering, illegal appointments and abuse of officials position, under patronage of BJP legislators from Doda-Kishtwar districts", they added. |
