Vakil urges Mufti to curb corruption | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 24: Former minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today in a statement urged the Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to take stringent measures to curb corruption in the State and make the administration accountable. "Menace of corruption has eroded our system and common masses had been suffering for a long time due to this menace and not getting justice due to corruption, nepotism and favoritism in administration. He urged Chief Minister to look into the financial mess in various departments which is hampering the development of our State. Vakil said that corruption undoubtedly flourishes from top level and anti graft bodies like State Vigilance Commission, State Accountability Commission and State Information Commission were constituted for curbing corruption and cleaning the system from unscrupulous elements. He said despite huge investment in these anti graft Commissions, desired results have not been achieved so far. Vakil urged the Chief Minister to strengthen these institutions and ensure disposal of all pending cases in a time bound manner so that faith of the people can be held back in the system of governance. Vakil was addressing party workers convention at Panzalla Rafiabad. |
