Basohli residents stage protest against bad roads | Lal Singh ignores queries | | Arun Trisal
Basohli, May 24: Outraged at failure of the district administration and "lackadaisical attitude" of the local MLA to repair 22 kilometre road from Zero Morh to Dhar Mahanpur, residents of the area staged a massive protest here. The protest was led by Madan Lal Sarpanch Sannan Ghat who alleged on district administration voluntarily ignored the link road as officers rarely visit in the area. While addressing protesters, Madan Lal highlighted several problems being faced by people of remote area, 22 Km from Basohli town due to bad road connectivity. He said they have never seen blacktopped road since 1947. Even issue has been raised by their forefathers and previous generation.Pertinently, sitting MLA & JK health Minister Chaudary Lal Singh and his wife have several times represented the state in JK Assembly but they 'failed' to mitigate the sufferings of people.Bad road connectivity affects transport facility in the remotest place. A few overloaded vehicles ply on the road and they usually meet with the accidents. Mani Ram, Naib Sarpanch, expressed similar views and said students are the worst sufferers of the bad road connectivity. Kuldip Kumar, a youth said, they have apprised the concerned authorities about the problem on many occasions but nothing has been done till date.He said they are unfortunate that they born in such a neglected area.Ashok Kumar, Raj Kumar, Sansar Chand, Pawan Kumar, Chain Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Raj Kumar, Veena Devi and many others expressed anguish against sitting MLA and demanded road connectivity on priority basis.Sitting MLA Chaudary Lal Singh refused to comment on the issue. He ignored to comment on Sanan Ghat road and made excuses that several roads in state are in dilapidated condition. |
