| JYF seeks SVO inquiry in JU appointments | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24: Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) today has expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of the Jammu University (JU) in which they seeks State Vigilance Organization inquiry of all Jammu University appointments.
According to press release, JYF General Secretary, Satpal Singh, appealed the Chancellor of University /Governor NN Vohra to directed State Vigilance Organization (SVO) and holding a separate inquiry of entire episode of recently accorded sanction to few contractual employees in flouting of the set norms.
Singh said that two and half month back the Vice Chancellor ordered suspension of three scholars labeling them as rumor mongers who tarnished the image of University through the medium of a press conference. "But now the VC Prof R D Sharma himself committed blunder by regularizing the service of a contractual Sanitary Supervisor as Sanitary Inspector. The said person was regularized by none other than Vice Chancellor himself on the recommendation of Empowered Committee," he revealed.
The open nepotism and favoritism does not end here as another contractual employee who happened to be wife of general secretary of Non-Teaching Employees Union of the varsity has been given some peculiar benefits.
He further said that wife of Non-Teaching Employees Union was appointed in 2008 as junior assistant on contract basis in place of Vijay Kumar Verma who was senior assistant in Accounts Branch of the university.
Before that she was appointed on leave chance for two years in 2006.
"The university administration asked all the contractual employees who had completed their seven year term to submit their documents till December 15, 2014," the he said, that the university accepted documents of her while her tenure was short by four months.
"The file of the said employee was cleared by the Vice Chancellor hence; he must own the responsibility of the blunder and injustice done to the poor employees. If few days ago, the VC can order suspension of Jursea Member for allegedly tarnishing the image of University then why can't he or the members of the Empowered Committee also be suspended on the similar analogy," he questioned.
Satpal claimed that several other blunders/ wrong-doings have been committed in the regularization of contractual employees and soon that would expose. |
