BJP equal partner in coalition: Dr Jitendra | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24: Addressing a function organized by a social organization here today, Union Minister of State, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an equal partner in the coalition government in Jammu & Kashmir State and there should be no misgivings about it. He said, BJP Ministers in the State government enjoy equal authority and equal say in every decision making and therefore, nobody should get away with the impression that BJP is there in the coalition only to stay in power. Dr. Jitendra Singh said, the BJP leadership will not have a Jammu-centric approach like certain political parties which followed a Kashmir-centric approach, but that does not mean that Jammu will be allowed to suffer from injustice on any account. Equitable development of all the three regions is a part of the "common minimum programme" of the coalition government and BJP will ensure that Jammu also receives its due share in financial allocations and development projects. Whether it is AIIMS or IIT or the Lake project, BJP leadership is committed to fulfill the promises made to the Jammu region,he added. Dr. Jitendra Singh said, BJP is an organization with sound principles and it has joined the government in the State not for the sake of power, but to be a part of the administration to fulfill its commitment to the State of Jammu & Kashmir and the region of Jammu. He said,BJP thrives on the political legacy of its founding father Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who attained martyrdom on the soil of Jammu & Kashmir and therefore, as the political successors of Mukherjee, we owe it to the common people as well as the Party "Karyakartas" to live up to the objectives and goals set by our founding fathers. |
