Police rescue abducted women, two kidnappers arrested | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 29: Three women who were allegedly abducted from different areas of Jammu and Kashmir have been rescued and two kidnappers arrested in Poonch district, police said on Friday. Acting on a complaint that a 16-year-old girl was abducted by one Fayaz Ahmed of Budgam district in March, police team of Surankote area traced the girl in Budgam belt few days ago, SSP, Poonch, J S Johar said. In the second case, an 18-year old girl who was abducted from Hill Kaka in Surankote belt of Poonch district in February, was rescued from Taranwala Gali area in the district yesterday, he said adding that her kidnapper Mohmmad Ikhlaq was arrested. In the last case, Yahyah Khan of Khanater village had lodged a report with the police on May 22 that his wife was kidnapped by Shafi Anwar of Bihar, Johar said. The police found the woman in Bihar and her abductor was arrested. All the rescued women were handed over to their respective families, police said, adding that cases have been registered against the accused in all the three incidents. The accused in the first incident is still absconding and efforts are on to nab him, Johar added. |
