This time GMCH principal Dr Ganysham Dev has shot a show cause notice to the Resident Doctors Association president Neeraj Sharma, directing him to substantiate his allegations. Dr. Sharma had alleged that GMC Principal had procured substandard intravenous fluid and drip sets. The show cause notice no: GMC/H/2015/1331, issued by the Principal GMCH reads: "Whereas you actively participated in the strike against the suspension of the registrar Dr Sushil Pandita which was grave misconduct on yours part. Whereas, you have given a statement in a newspaper that Principal GMCH Jammu had procured substandard intravenous fluids and drip sets. As such you are directed to substantiate your allegations by tomorrow or withdraw the statement failing which defamation suit will be filed against you". Pertinently, Dr Neeraj Sharma and others in their statement to the English daily had demanded removal of the Principal for procuring "substandard" intravenous fluids and drip sets, adding, that the frequency of drip reactions has markedly increased over the past 2 years and it has been repeatedly brought into the notice of the MS and Principal GMC Jammu but despite all reminders with dozens in written, the administration failed to take appropriate corrective measures. The alleged procurement of substandard drips came to limelight after the death of the mother of one of the media persons. Meanwhile, some senior doctors in GMC when contacted, applauding the role of Dr Ganysham in administration, said that Principal has no role in procuring in any drugs as for the purpose purchase committee is constitued. |
