Shrine Board provides Rs 1 crore to MC for sanitation

KATRA, May 29: The Governor, N. N. Vohra, who is Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, has approved a financial support of rupees one crore under social responsibility activity scheme of the Board to the Municipal Committee, Katra for undertaking various development works and improving sanitation and other civic amenities for this base town for pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
In this context, the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, handed over a tractor with trolly, a load carrier, 3 water coolers, 25 dust bins, 50 garden benches, 20 wheel barrows, 6.35 quintals of CGI sheets, 70 energy efficient street lights, besides other items to the Administrator, Municipal Committee, Katra, at a function held here today. These items provided by the Shrine Board will meet immediate requirements of the Municipal Committee, Katra. He added that 500 saplings of indigenous and ornamental trees and 500 tree guards are also being provided to the Katra Municipality.
