Govt warns teachers to perform or face action | Dismal performance of teachers | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 29: Days after the dismal results were witnessed in government school in Kashmir valley, government has issued warning to the teachers to perform or face action. Reports informed that after the disappointing performance of government schools was witnessed during class 10th results, the state authorities have issued a direct warning to the teachers that if similar scenes continue, stern action which could affect the service graph of teachers shall be taken. Confirming the reports, Director Education Kashmir Showkat Beigh said that the government has asked the teachers of high schools to improve the results else action including suspension of services would be taken. He maintained the government is also mulling to introduce smart classes in schools so that students could cope with the emerging trends of the present day world. Pertinently, as many as 30 government schools recorded dismal pass percentage from 2 to 10 percent, notwithstanding the state government spending millions of rupees on the handsome salaries being given to the "well-qualified" teachers in these schools. At least 25 Government Higher Secondary Schools (GHSSs) had recorded either zero per cent or less than 20 per cent result in Class XII exams after the JKBOSE declared results for the Jammu province. |
