G PC organizes environment conversation week 6/8/2015 11:47:24 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 8: The NSS wing of Government Polytechnic College (GPC), Bikram Chowk organized the 'Environment Conservation Week' in the college premises to spread awareness amongst the students about the greener and cleaner Environment and the detrimental effects of deforestation. According to press release, Principal of institute Er Arun Bangotra initiated the plantation drive in the college campus by planting the first tree sapling. He emphasised the need of planting trees to minimize the increasing effects of global warming and importance of the healthy and green environment in the human lives. The program was organized under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Er. Khalid Sheikh who applauded the efforts being undertaken by NSS volunteers for coming forward with the noble idea of "Plant Trees- Save Nature- Save Earth". More than 100 samplings of various varieties were planted by the students and staff of the institute in the college campus. During the week various events will be organized such as Writing Competition on the topic "Afforestation and Deforestation", Painting Competition on "Conservation of Environment", Quiz and Debate competition on the topic "Use of Technology for Environmental Conservation."   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
