AJKPA holds meeting, highlights issues 6/18/2015 11:06:51 PM Early Times Report DODA, June 18: A meeting of patwaris of district Doda was held here today under the presidentship of district president of All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA) Doda. The meeting was held to highlight the various burning issues confronting the patwaris. The core issues highlighted by the patwaris include furnishing of information regarding verification of the list of Ration card holders and census remuneration and non-release of salary. The patwaris alleged that a village level committee consisting of the officials of government and elected members was constituted to conduct verification/scrutiny of the census list 2011 and the list of rationees issued by CAPD and the changing of proforma by the authorities concerned ultimately led to the harassment of patwaris. Due to this jeopardizing exercise involving repeated computerizing of the lists and printing out the data etc casts each patwari up to rupees ten thousands. It is pertinent to mention here that most of the patwaris of erstwhile district Doda fall under NPS and have not been paid for last seven to eight months which compels them to go on indefinite strike if the matter is not resolved.
