Blue-eyed doc gets transfer order rescinded within one hour | Lal Singh ki Jai ho! | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Anantnag, June 18: In a worst example of using political influence, a blue-eyed health officer in this south Kashmir district managed to get his transfer order rescinded hours after it was issued. According to details available with Early Times on 15th of this month government issued an order 225-HME-of 2015 and transferred fourteen (14) doctors and consultants in the interest of administration. Figuring at serial number 6, Dr Mohammad Aashraf Padder-a close aid of former Director Health Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman was transferred to Pattan as in charge Block Medical officer from Sub-district hospital Seer. However, interestingly on the same day, influential doctor managed to get his transfer order revoked. On the same date a corrigendum order issued by Dr M K Bandari, Secretary Health and medical education issued in favor of the doctor reads, "Serial number 6 of the government order 225-HME-of 2015 dated 15-05-2015 issued under endorsement number HD/GAZ/TF-10 2015 dated 15-06-2015 by health and medical education department shall be reads as: serial number 6, Dr Mohammad Ashraf is being transferred to Block Mattan as In-Charge BMO." Highly placed sources said that the blue-eyed doctor called a top cabinet minister of a ruling party, who later pursued Health Minister Lal Singh. They said that on the directions of Health Minister, Health and Medical department issued the corrigendum merely after an hour. A senior health officer posted in Anantnag revealed that a minister from Peoples Democratic Party intervened into the issue and managed to award prize posting to Dr Ashraf Padder. "He (Dr Ashraf) is actively contributing to his party that is the reason that the PDP Minister managed to give him this prize posting," an official pleading anonymity said. Interestingly, government hasn't issued any transfer order in favor of Block Medical Officer Mattan Dr Gowhar. "By posting Dr Ashraf as BMO and not transferring Dr Gowher who still holds the post of BMO in block Mattan, it is being conveyed to senior doctors that they will have to kneel before corrupt politicians and in case any fails they fail to do so they would have to work under a junior doctor," health official said, terming the order as insult to Dr Gowher who is very much senior to Dr Asharf Padder. In seniority list available with Early Times, name of blue-eyed doctor Dr Ashraf Padder figures at serial number 1228 while as the name of BMO Mattan Dr Gowher Ali figures at 1057 which clearly shows that Dr Gowher is much senior to Dr Ashraf. Repeated attempts to contact Secretary Health and medical education, proved futile as he didn't attend repeated calls. Health Minister Lal Singh was contacted but dodged the question by saying cellular signal is weak and later switched off the Phone. Pertinently, Dr Ashraf Padder is among the doctors against whom a nurse last year leveled serious allegations of sexual harassment. Nurse molestation case in which former Director Health along with Dr Padder were accused by the nurse of molesting her hit the headlines, however later one-man committee constituted in violations of supreme court guidelines acquitted them of all the charges. |
