PDP workers stage protest against water shortage | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, June 18: Peoples Democratic Party protest against water shortage in Kishtwar district and blocked Kishtwar circular road for hours and disrupted vehicular movement on the road. According to information, the protesters led by PDP Youth leader Wasil Doolwal criticized the PHE Minister for their failure in addressing the genuine problem being faced by the people of Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas. The protesters also rue the failure of district administration for its failure to streamline the water distribution system in Kishtwar town, particularly in area falling in ward No.1, Ward.No 2, Ward No.7 and Hidyal area. Protesters slammed PHE Minister and officials of the department and alleged that illegal connection from gravity lines to various influential persons as main reason for acute water crises in the district. They said even though PHE Minister himself visited Kishtwar last month, but he too fail to made the 2nd water lifting motor functional and demanded immediate address to the problem as holy month of Ramazan is schedule to begin from tomorrow. Later on the assurance of senior officials of the administration and police, the protesters called off the protest. |
