PDTU urges Government to open free residential schools | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 18: People's Democratic Trade Union (PDTU) today urged Education Minister Nayeem Akhter to open free residential schools on the pattern of Dalhousie Public School, so that government can provide them best education and these hapless children to become a contributing force in coming years. According to press release, union district president Jasmeet Singh Madaan said that education is the key- factor in nation- building and no nation can progress if its citizens are not literate. J&K being the militancy hit state since 1989 has seen enough bloodshed since years, with the result many families becomes victims of militancy and this type of tragic incidents has left behind many innocent lives particularly children's in lurch. Elaborating further, Jasmeet mooted the idea of opening four schools in the areas which has suffered the blunt of militancy most so that the children left behind do not plunges in the gallop dark but come out strongly with maximum support from the PDP-BJP Coalition headed by Jenab Mufti Mohd Sayeed who always remain in fore-front to undertake humanitarian cause for the welfare of state particularly children's. He demanded the opening of residential schools for militancy affected children at Kupwara, Pahalgam, Kud and Rajouri so that the students of adjoining areas get the benefit of world-class education to be provided in these schools. He further urged Jenab Nayeem Akhter to give a sympathetic and compassionate consideration to this humanitarian task and announce the opening of these schools at an earliest so that benefits of education percolate to these children. |
