Police rescue 10 bovines, 2 smugglers held | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, June 21: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling in District Doda, police today rescued 10 bovines after it arrested two smugglers who were moving the animals to Kashmir Valley on foot. Police sources said that during a naka checking Police party of Police Post Bhagwah under the jurisdiction of Police Station Doda intercepted two bovine smugglers identified as Talib Hussain son of Raj Wali of Bramdhar Dessa and Farooq Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz of Manjmi Dessa and rescued 10 bovine from their clutches which were being smuggled from Doda to Kashmir on foot. A case FIR No. 96/2015 under section 188 RPC 3 PC Act registered at Police Station Doda against the accused persons and further investigation was in progress. Kishtwar, June 21: As a part of 'Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyaan', a campaign launched by Prime Minister of India, Dulhasti Power Station has been entrusted with the responsibility of construction of 87 Nos. toilets in 45 schools. Earlier Power Station has handed over 12 Nos. toilets (Girls & Boys) to 6 Government Schools. Further, on June 20, 2015, Dulhasti Power Station handed-over 6 toilets in three schools to school authorities under 'Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyaan'. The beneficiary schools are GMS Malikpora, GPS Dassa and GMS Batpora. The toilets were handed over to the Schools by Harish Bulchandani, Chief Engineer (Civil), in a function in the presence of R.K. Verma, Sr. Manager (HR), A.K. Poddar, Manager (Civil), other officer of NHPC and Head Master, teachers and students of the Schools. Headmaster and teachers of the Schools thanked NHPC Limited for the initiative taken and providing toilets for maintaining hygiene leading to better education. |
