| Kewal's son 'manages duty' at Speaker Kavinder Gupta's Jammu residence | | Calling shots in PDP-BJP regime too…..! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 21: If Kewal Krishan Sharma, the then Additional PRO of ex Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, despite being infamous for many controversies was able to call shots during NC-Congress regime, he is managing to grind axe in favour of his son employed in J&K Legislative Assembly, in the PDP-BJP regime too, thanks to authorities at the helm who are allowing this to happen. He managed to keep his son with the camp office Jammu where he is learnt to be on duty at Speaker Kavinder Gupta's official residence.
Sources said Kewal Krishan's son Ishant Sharma got this job as a brazen case of backdoor appointment in the state Legislative Assembly Secretariat last year. Sources said this appointment as watch and ward staff was made when MCC was in place for LS elections last year. Using his web of high level contacts and 'tricks of trade' for getting a government job, the then additional PRO of Deputy Chief Minister in connivance with authorities at the helm managed entry from backdate in showing this appointment having been made much earlier.
Sources further said the authorities in the Assembly Secretariat indulged in violation of financial code in this case besides irregularities in other alike matters by managing to draw his salary from the backdate. This was done a hush hush manner with active support from a couple of clerks in the Accounts section who kept it as a closely guarded secret. These manoeuvres were possible due to the fact that J&K Assembly Secretariat doesn't have any Chief Accounts Officer from the Finance Department who normally keeps a check on such aberrations and is supposed not to allow release or drawl of salaries on this pattern, howsoever influential the person may be, sources said . All this is however, a story of the past.
What has stirred up the matter and raised many eye brows is how Ishant Sharma is enjoying the 'niceties' of a government job ,that too not on merit consideration but clinched through influence of contacts and allegedly money power too. While majority of the staff in Assembly Secretariat has moved with Durbar Move to Srinagar, he has managed stay with the camp office in Jammu. He doesn't attend the camp office too, sources said, instead he has been deputed at the Speaker Kavinder Gupta's residence for a duty which is almost unassigned or unknown to many. Sources said the matter of his presence at the Speaker, who happens to be a senior BJP leader, has come as disappointment to BJP workers given the background and past controversies involving his father, which were raked up by BJP while in opposition.
Sources also said BJP workers are perturbed over the fact that how authorities at the helm instead of initiating enquiry into what wrong has happened in the past have conveniently allowed stay of Ishant Sharma with the camp office in Jammu , specifically so at the residence of Speaker on account of which he makes rare appearance in the office. |
