PDP-BJP fail to tackle Corruption,nepotism :Youth Congress | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 21: Youth Congress President Aamir Rasool today said that people are interested in development and corruption free society but it is unfortunate that corruption ,Nepotism has increased in the present PDP BJP coalition Government and development stagnant . He said corruption and nepotism would have to be fought with firm hands in Jammu and Kashmir. Aamir further said there is no room for such people and asked Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to implement law under which during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad, properties of corrupt officials whose assets were proved to be more than their known source of income were seized. "It was because of the introduction of such stringent laws that Jammu and Kashmir State which was once considered as most corrupt state had scaled down to number 20. However, the situation has again reached back to square ones and we are being considered as number two in the list which is quite unfortunate," Aamir Said that everyone is fed up of sentimental slogans and are purely interested in development and corruption free society .He claimed that Congress never endorsed double standards or hollow sloganeering for voting consideration "but believes in tangible actions for the betterment and uplift meant of poor ,needy and downtrodden people . Extend eviction drive to Sgr: BJP to Bali Baghat Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday hailed the efforts of the Forest Minister Bali Baghat to get the forest land evicted in Jammu region and asked the minister to extend the eviction drive to Srinagar and take action against all those people who have involved in encroaching the forest land in the summer capital. In a statement issued here, the BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir said, "We appreciate the steps taken by the forest minister in Jammu and hope that he would start the same eviction drive in Kashmir". He further said that in valley few people with political backing had occupied the forest land on the foothills of Zabarwan mountain range and have even constructed palatial bungalows in the green belt areas. Jehangir alleged that most encroachments were made during the erstwhile NC-Congress regime as the party leaders did not take any steps to stop this brazen violation of law. "We request the Forest Minister to order an enquiry to look into the role of the officials who facilitated the process of encroachment," he added. Jehangir said the forest minister has taken a bold step and has shown that he won't be bogged down by anyone irrespective of how powerful he or she is. "The BJP is committed to provide neat and clean governance and party won't allow anyone to play with the system," he added.
3 Killed in Poonch Road Accident Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 21: Three persons including a minor died in a road accident in Jammu Kashmir's Poonch district Sunday. Reports reaching here said that the accident took place in Poonch district in Jammu region when the driver lost control of the car. So far, only two bodies have been recovered. Meanwhile, in a family feud in North Kashmir's Kupwara, a man was killed and his elderly father critically injured today. "Two brothers and their family members attacked each other with axes and batons in a scuffle at Payarpora in Hayhama area of the district. Mohammad Akbar Khan died on the spot while his father Nasrullah Khan, 65, was injured critically in the scuffle over the inheritance of a piece of land," the reports said. They added that Police and paramilitary personnel were called to the spot to prevent the situation from further deteriorating. |
