Urs of Sufi Saint Shah Sahib celebrated with religious fervour | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, June 21: Annual Urs of 17th century Sufi Saint Hazrat Shah Mohammad Fareed-ud-Din Baghdadi (RTA) commonly known as Shah Sahib was celebrated with religious fervour here today in which over 50000 people from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and outside participated. Heavy rush of pilgrims was witnessed today at the mausoleum of the sufi saint. On this occasion, the caretaker of the shrine of sufi saint also displayed the personal belongs including sword, clothes and stick used by Hazrat Shah Mohammad Fareed-ud-Din Baghdadi (RTA) during his life time. Shah sahib during his life time preached religious education and spread the message of humanity among the people of Doda, Kishtwar and adjoining Anantnag District of Kashmir province. District administration Kishtwar along with police has made elaborated security arrangements, beside availability of drinking water, however, several pilgrims expressed dissatisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration as there was acute shortage of transportation, bathrooms and temporary shelters. Several pilgrims were seen sleeping on footpaths. |
