Hideout busted In Rajouri, soldier injured in mine blast | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 10: Army today claimed to have recovered a large consignment of arms and ammunition from a militant hideout made in a natural cave in Kalakote of Rajouri district on late evening hours on Thursday. Meanwhile an army jawan was reportedly injured in a mine blast when he stepped accidently step over a drifted mine. Defence sources said that after specific information provided by the source Kalakote based troops of 63 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) under the aegis of Reasi based Uniform Force launched search and destroy operation in general area Lal Thanadapani in Kalakote of Rajouri. "During search of the hideout army busted it made out a natural cave and recovered one -AK 56 Rifle along with 06 magazines and 180 rounds, 01-Pakistan made 30 bore semi automatic pistol, 02 rounds of RPG launcher (RPGL), 10-rounds of Pika gun and one -circuit box," spokesperson said. Police sources said that the army after busting the hideout handed over the arms haul to police and a case FIR No 31/15 under sections 4/25 IAA and 120-B/121/122/123 RPC has been registered against unidentified persons Meanwhile a soldier was injured critically reportedly in a mine blast in the evening today. Army is tight lipped about the incident but reliable sources have said that the blast took place in the late evening hours today when the soldier accidently stepped over a drifted abandoned mine inadvertently. Sources identified Injured soldier namely as Sarbjeet Singh who was rescued to the nearby Army Medical Centre and after initial medical help was rushed to Military Hospital at Rajouri. PRO defence yet has not confirmed the incident.
