CWA urges IOC to ensure quality, quantity of petroleum Products | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 10: CWA organized a meeting with the IOC authorities to discuss various pressing issues concerning consumers at large regarding supply of correct quantity and quality of petroleum products at petrol pumps as well as services available to the consumers. IOC was represented by Hari Anupam, Senior Divisional Manger and State Level Co-coordinator and Anil Kumar Manager, whereas CWA was represented by Vikram Gour (President), Ashok Koul (General Secretary), Chander Parkash Sharma (Secretary), Chander Gulhati and Chander Udhey Sharma. CWA members raised the issue of Adulteration and were of the opinion that adulteration takes place at retail outlets of HSD /Petrol and other lubricants particularly in rural areas. IOC informed that routine inspections are carried out through field staff periodically including surprise checks. The surprise inspections were, however, hampered due to fire in BHP Van and retirement of IOC Van driver. The quality checks of samples are also routinely conducted by petroleum Cos. IOC further clarified that in case of any doubt a consumer can also inform the Company/IOC who will take immediate necessary action as far as possible. |
