Police solves blind murder case, woman among three arrested

RAJOURI, July 10: Police on late night hours on Thursday recovered the body of a person, driver by profession, who had gone missing from the house of a married woman namely Shahida Kousar on Monday night with whom the deceased reportedly had illicit relations.
"Following the complaint by Sunita Devi wife of the deceased Sheetal Kumar son of Roop Lal of Dasal , police had lodged a missing report and had started investigation," said police.
On Thursday police visited the house of Shahida Kousar for investigation and after detailed questioning rounded up Shahida, his brother Khadim Hussain, her brother-in-law Mohd Aksar along with other two villagers who were identified by Shahida for their involvement in the blind murder and brought them to police post for further questioning.
Police said during sustained interrogation Shahida and other excluding two villagers have admitted to committing the murder of Sheetal Sharma and in the late night hours on Thursday police also recovered the body of the deceased from Nagoon Ghai forest about 2 kilometers from the house of the accused.
After legal formalities and postmortem the body was handed over to family members, however, instead of taking the body to home they kept it on Jammu-Poonch highway at Nagesh Bridge and started raising slogans against police and also demanding Rs 5 lakh compensation and a permanent government job for the wife of the deceased.
Hundreds of vehicles got stranded on both sides including ambulances and even the protesters didn't allow any army vehicle, army convoy to move on the highway till 2 pm.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri and Additional SP Rajouri rushed to the spot but they failed to pacify the protesters, who refused to listen to them until an adequate compensation is announced.
At about 2 pm, the District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Deepati Uppal and SSP Rajouri Dr Haseeb Mughal reached the spot and pacified the people.
SSP assured the family members that police will investigate the blind murder in professional manner to bring the accused involved in this blind murder behind the bars at the earliest.
Preliminary police investigation reportedly revealed that the deceased had illicit relations with the woman and on Mondaynight under well planned strategy he was eliminated by the members of Shahida family with the help of few other villagers/relatives.
Police have booked Shahida, Mohd Aksar and Khalid Hussain in murder case along with some other unidentified persons in case FIR No 350/2015 under sections 302(murder) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of RPC.
"Soon after the detailed interrogation of the accused, some more arrests can't be ruled out in this blind murder," said a senior police officer.
