PDD employees ignore CE's transfer orders | | | Saahil Suhail
Anantnag, July 10: Despite being transferred a month earlier by Chief Engineer, Power Development Department, influential employees known for their allegiances with politicians have refused to join new postings here in this Southern district. Documents in possession with Early Times reveal that on 27th of May, Chief Engineer Electric Maintenance and Rural electrification wing Srinagar ordered transfer of eighty three (83) senior assistants in Electric Division Anantnag, Bijbehara, Kulgam, Baramullah, Sopore, Kupwara, Pulwama, Sumbal, Awantipora and Ganderbal. "The transferees shall deem themselves to have been relived from their place of posting from the date of issuance of transfer order," order (CE/M&RC 56 OF 2015) issued on 27th of May reads. However, ironically after the passage of over month, three influential senior assistants in Bijbehara electric division continue to show reluctance in joining new postings at Anantnag electric division. Official sources told Early Times that influential employees are humiliating their incumbents whenever they come to office. "Three senior assistants who were transferred from Electric Division Anantnag to Bijbehara are facing humiliation everyday as they being denied chair and table by the influential transferred employees," they said. Employees in the Bijbehara Electric Division are miffed over the development. "It is totally ridiculous; an assistant is openly disobeying the orders of Chief Engineer, those who replaced these three employees are being subjected to harassment and humiliation. Those politicians who are shielding these employees are doing no serve to society but instead are lowering down the sanctity of the hierarchy of the administration," a senior official pleading anonymity said. He said that political interference in the department has shaken the employees. "Unnecessary Political interference into the administrative issues is likely going to take disastrous shape," he said. Repeated attempts failed to contact Chief Engineer M&RC; however Superintending Engineer South Circle assured that he will look into the matter. "I am not aware of this issue but when you have brought it into my notice I will definitely look into the matter," he said.. |
