Resumed Indo-Pak dialogue adds to Mufti's credibility | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 10: The resumption of the Indo-Pak dialogue will strengthen the political stature of the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who had called for dialogue between the two nations as one of the basic agenda of the BJP-PDP alliance. The CM Mufti Sayeed has been asking the Prime Minsiter Modi to resume the dialogue with the Pakistan and had publicly stated that he has asked the Modi for it in his private meeting. Mufti Sayeed has been always crediting the former prime minister AB Vajpayee for change in atmospheric especially in the Kashmir. Sources said the Mufti has been asking PM Modi to redo the gesture of the Vajpayee who decided to hold talks with the Pakistan even after the parliament attack. According to sources, the Mufti Sayeed was given an affirmative response by the PM on his this proposal though the dates and timing were not disclosed as it was being kept a seceret. The resumption of the talks will give much more credibility to the BJP-PDP government especially the PDP which has been accused of allowing the BJP to get a foot hold in the Kashmir. the opponent of the Mufti Sayeed has been trying to project the BJP as anti-Muslim an anti-Kashmir and anti-Pakistan party to cut the size of the Mufti sayeed. "Now with this one stroke all the opponents and critics of the alliance have been silenced. After Vajpayee, it will be the Narendra Modi who will be going to the Pakistan, a country which matters most for the Kashmiri sentiment and peace in the state. In Omar's time Manmohan Singh couldn't go, possibly also because Omar couldn't convince him to do so but the CM has managed and it has given him more credibility to head the government," said a senior minister, wishing not to be named. |
