| Punjab based narco- smuggler held with 7 Kgs Bhukki | | |

jammu, July 25: Police today arrested a Punjab based narcotic smuggler alongwith with 7 kilogram Bhukki (Poppy Straw) which was recovered from his possession during a naka checking under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bus Stand in Jammu city.
The naka was laid by Inspector Paramjit Singh, SHO P/S Bus-Stand, Jammu on the direction of Rajiv Pandey, Incharge SSP Jammu alongwith close supervision of Parbeet Singh SDPO City North and Shivkumar Singh Chouhan, SP City North, Jammu.
Police said, "During naka checking one pedestrian having one bag in his hand on seeing Police party tried to escape from the spot but he was chased by the Police party.
"After being held, during questioning he disclosed his name as Sohan Lal S/o Banarsi Dass R/o Khat Kallan Tehsil Banga District Nowshera (Punjab).
Meanwhile during the search of his belonging police recovered 07 Kgs Poppy Straw, police said.
A case FIR No. 32/2015 u/s 8/15/NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Bus-Stand, Jammu and investigation is on. |
