ReT Forum condemns education minister's statement on screening test | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 2: All Jammu and Kashmir ReT Teachers Forum today organized meeting at districts levels and condemned the statement of Education Minister, Naeem Akhter in which he has said that the government is going to organize a screening test of All the ReTs and remarked that they are less qualified and possess fake degrees. According to press release, showing resentment against such move of the minister concerned, a monthly meeting was organized at Udhampur under the chairmanship of State president Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar. While speaking on the occasion, Sharma flayed the remarks of the minister toward ReT community and said that such statement by responsible minister was condemnable by thousands of ReTs who have been playing a key role in the state since 2000 when due to militancy hundreds of schools were closed and ban on direct recruitment of teachers. "During this period ReT Teachers left no stone unturned to open these closed schools due to militancy, increased enrollment, minimized dropout rates and raised literacy rate of the State especially in the rural and far flung areas", he said. Meanwhile, Jammu provincial President Rajesh Jamwal also organized an emergency meeting and condemned the remarks of the minister. Vinod Sharma has appealed the Chief Minister of the State to intervene personally, so that such defamatory remarks by responsible minister against the ReT community not be repeated. |
