Awoora clashes: CJM directs police to lodge FIR against 'Revenue officials' | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, Aug 4: Chief Judicial Magistrate Anantnag on Tuesday directed police to register an FIR against Revenue Officials including Tehsildar Sallar for attacking a Gujjar family in Awoora -Pahalgam on August 1 (Saturday). Acting on the complaint of Ghulam Mohmmad Khatana and Bilal Ahmad Khatna, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Anantnag directed police to register an FIR against four revenue officials including Tehsildar Sallar Shabir Ahmad at Police Station Pahalgam. However the CJM has asked concerned police station officer (SHO) to establish the truthfulness of the complaint before taking cognizance. Court said Inquiry officer, who will be appointed by the Station House Officer Pahalgam for establishing the truthfulness of the complaint and was asked to submit the report within fifteen (15) days. After hearing the petition filed by Khatana, the CJM said the allegations in the petition are serious in nature and constitute cognizable case. The four revenue accused officials have been accused of Attempt to murder (307), 354A when Spontaneous clashes broke out between locals and a demolition squad comprising officials and employees from revenue and Police department at Awoora Pahalgam. The petition said that eight persons including a pregnant lady sustained injuries in the clashes and two women identified as Aabida w/o Ashraf Kahatana and Gulshana w/o Bilal Ahmad were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. Petitioner Ghulam Mohmmad Khatana has submitted to court: "I am the owner of the land and haven't sold it to anyone. Under Roshi scheme I have applied and in fact paid the fee at a time when Qamar Sajjad paid the fee but his file got cleared surprisingly mine still is pending at DC Office Anantnag." |
