Two soldiers killed, four others injured in 'freak' firing incident in Tral

SRINAGAR, Aug 4: Two army jawans were killed while as four others got injured during a firing incident in the Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday evening.
Reports reaching here said that an army unit had laid an ambush in the Noorpora locality of Tral area after receiving inputs that militant commander Burhan is passing through the area. As the army was carrying out ambush in the locality a unit of 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) passed by and it is here where the trouble began.
The army personnel mistook the RR personnel as militants and opened fire on them. Two soldiers of 42 RR died on the spot while as four others have been injured in the incident. The firing incident led to the panic in the area with people sensing that an encounter has broken out between the militants and security forces. The deceased soldiers have been identified as N K Mohan Boro and Lal Chanhlima Ghatak.
It would be in place to mention that Burhan is a wanted militant in the Tral and the adjoining areas of the Pulwama district. Although, many ambushes were laid to trap or kill him he has managed to ensure his escape and as such continues to lead Hizbul Mujahideen militant group in the Tral area.
Burhan and some of his accomplices had posted some photos as well as videos on social networking site Facebook. These photos and videos turned out to be hit among some of the circles in Kashmir with the same being either liked or shared by the members of this world renowned social networking site.
