Udhampur, Aug 4: ABVP Udhampur unit today condemned the government decision to include Urdu as a compulsory descriptive paper with a weightage of 30 marks in recently published syllabus under JKSSB notification no. SSB/ /Sel/Secy/2015/7029-39 for the post of Naib Tehsildar being conducted by the JK Service Selection Board (JKSSB) In a press conference ABVP city Secretary Arjun Khajuria condemned the government decision to include Urdu as a compulsory descriptive paper with a weightage of 30 marks in recent syllabus as announced by JKSSB notification no. SSB/ /Sel/Secy/2015/7029-39 Dtd: 31/07/2015 for the post of Naib Tehsildar. He apprehended this initiative is going to have negative repercussions on the J&K job aspirants. "Why Urdu is made mandatory only to Naib Tehsildar and not for Tehsildar and other revenue officers who qualify KAS, he asked and added, "KAS, appointed to such posts performs their work as well as their duty well, even though they have not qualified such Urdu paper as referred for Naib Tehsildar. "We demand making changes in the syllabus and eliminating Urdu as a compulsory descriptive paper, he said. He said if government doesn't change its stand the ABVP will take agitational path against this move.
