Legal Metrology Deptt imposes Rs. 9000 penalty 8/5/2015 12:08:46 AM EARLY TIMES REPORT Ramban, Aug 4: On the directions of the District Development Commissioner Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari, a team of Legal Metrology Department headed by Assistant controller, Kapil Jamwal today conducted inspection of various business establishments on the national highways from Batote to Ramban and booked many traders for violation of Legal Metrology Act. As many as 4 Challans were compounded by the concerned on the spot and penalty of Rs 9000 was imposed on the erring traders. The head of the team directed all the traders to use only verified weights and measures for business transactions and display MRP, PKD, Net Contents and complete address and Consumer Care Number on the commodities to be sold in package form.
