Court extended 14 days judicial remand of Mohd Naved | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 4: The judicial remand of apprehended Pakistani terrorist Mohd. Naved was extended by another 14 days by a competent court today. In the much publicized Udhampur Attack Case, NIA produced LeT terrorist Mohd Naved in the Court of Special Judge NIA for seeking extension of Judicial Remand as today the remand of Naved was expiring, which was extended by NIA Court up to September 17, 2015. Special Judge NIA YP Kotwal after perusal of the CD files revelas that during the custodial interrogation of accused Naved, certain facts regarding the larger conspiracy behind the terrorist attack has come into light which includes the network of conspirators, supporters, financers, facilitators and handlers of the accused under custody, who need to be verified during the course of investigation. Court further observed that investigation of the case is scattered across various places of J&K and other co-accused are absconding and have not been apprehended till date which causing hindrance in unearthing the larger conspiracy behind the attack. with these observations Court extended the fourteen days Judicial Remand of Mohammad Naved son of Mohd Yaqoob r/o Gulam Mohammadabad Kookianwala, Faisalabad Punjab Pakistan with the direction to NIA to lodged the accused on Kot-Bhalwal Jail and produced the accused before the Court on expiry of the remand period and also directed to get medically examined to the accused after every 48 hours. In an another application filed by Chief Investigating Officer NIA seeking direction to disposed of the live grenade which was recovered from the Naved, Special Judge NIA YP Kotwal after gone through the application permitted the NIA and directed SSP Udhampur to get the live grenade defused under standard operating procedure by an expert in the presence of Magistrate.
