If correct, it's a great decision | 'Great wall along LoC' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 4: On Wednesday, a report in a section of media suggested that New Delhi was busy in constructing an embankment (high wall) along the Line of Control (LoC). If correct, it augurs well for the territorial integrity of India, as the construction of high wall along the LoC would defeat the Pakistani designs to export terror to Jammu & Kashmir and heighten subversive activities in the State. Since Pakistan is India's hostile neighbour having its evil eyes fixed on Jammu & Kashmir and the Indus waters and since Pakistan in collaboration of Lashkar-e-Toiba and similar other terror outfits has been running terrorist training camps in PoJK, it will be only desirable if New Delhi strengths its war machine along the LoC and International Border and construct embankments wherever needed to check the Pakistani activities. India needs to insolate Jammu & Kashmir at whatever cost. It is imperative from the defence point of view. The report that India was busy in constructing an embankment along the LoC also suggested that the terrorist organization, Hizbul Mujahideen of Syed Salahuddin, had opposed the decision on constructing an embankment along the LoC, saying that India wanted to strengthen its control over Kashmir. "In order to turn Kashmir into a prison, India is busy in constructing a great wall on using Israeli made concertina wires and it is the collective responsibility of both Pakistani and Kashmiri leadership to foil the designs of India," said Hizb spokesperson Salim Hashmi quoting United Jihad Council Chief Commander Syed Salahuddin in a statement, and added that it will have serious ramifications" if India is not stopped in its designs". A report in this regard said: "Salahuddin while addressing Hizb Command Council (at Muzaffrabad) said that "they have inputs that India has been constructing a great wall all around Kashmir and on experimental basis India has completed its work on one kilometer stretch a bit inside the point of Ceasefire Line. Unfortunately, India was allowed to construct the wall during Musharaf regime in Pakistan and it had a negative impact over the Kashmir Freedom Movement. Now the plan on which India is working needs to be resisted otherwise Kashmir will take the shape of Gaza Strip. I appeal to the civil and armed leadership of Pakistan to make the Indian plot unsuccessful. Pakistan's silence over the issue will be taken as a support to the Indian plot and it will have serious consequences for the freedom struggle in Kashmir". What he said was self-explanatory and it suggests that the Indian idea of constructing an embankment wherever needed to plug the vulnerable points has rattled Syed Salahuddin to the extent that he had to appeal to Pakistan and its agents in Kashmir to see to it that the decision of the Government of India was scuttled. |
